Amnesia's verse vocals, lyrics, bass-line and some drum programming pre-date the finished recording by almost a decade. Living in a massive, empty apartment on the outskirts of Beijing in early 2017, I revisited the track by adding a noise guitar "solo", with the amp set to 11. No one came by to complain about all the racket (who said China doesn't have more freedom?). Back in Vancouver a few months later, after an epic all night walk 'til 6am, got the lyric idea for the "bridge" vocals, and recorded 'em that morning.

Phil Western added a drum machine track in July 2017. I edited the piece inside my van at a campsite on the Oregon coast in late August, and LSD 49 alumni Doug Liddle played a gorgeous little guitar part for the song in December 2017. I wasn't happy with the mix that came from these sessions, so I shelved the thing until I remixed it in Oct 2019. I think this latest version captures the song's sensory deprivation to overload energy more accurately. Playing this track at a loud volume has a good chance of clearing some rooms, and might cause your Mom to ask if you want your ears boxed.
